Physical Therapy Modalities
Traditional physical agents are available to help improve symptoms. These include things like heat and cold compresses, wax (i.e. paraffin), electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and mechanical traction (also referred to as spinal decompression therapy).

Dry Needling

Trigger Point Dry Needling
Some patients benefit from trigger point dry needling. Trigger point dry needling is a scientifically proven method of treating pain and tightness with the use of very thin needles (e.g. acupuncture needles).


Orthotics / Medical Equipment
Patients will be informed about various orthoses (e.g. wrist brace) and medical equipment (e.g. cane) that may benefit them.


Massage / Soft Tissue Mobilization
Soft tissue mobilization includes techniques such as massage and stretching to relax tissues and decrease pain.


Joint Mobilization / Manipulation
Sometimes joints feel “locked” or tight. These joints (e.g. spine or knee) can be moved in a specific manner to “unlock” them and improve their motion.

Exercise Instruction

Exercise Instruction
Patients will be taught exercises to improve their strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, balance, and overall physical well-being.


Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
Patients will be educated on how to safely facilitate healing through exercise and movement.
